Are you a thinker or a doer? To be successful, you really do have to take action to achieve what you want in life. Many people find this easier said than done, so here are some very important steps for you to take to ensure that you accomplish what you set out to do!
- What do you want to achieve in your life? Take stock of what may be missing, or what aspects of your life you want to improve. Write down your ideas. This is the embryo that will start you on your journey to achieve great things!
- Look at your list of ideas. Which of these would make the biggest difference to you and others once they were accomplished? Write down the top 2 or 3 ideas, and make a firm commitment to yourself that you will do what it takes to achieve these.
- Now formulate these ideas into goals. What exactly do you want to achieve, when do you want to complete these, and how will you achieve them? Also write down what the outcome will be once you have accomplished these goals.
- The next crucial step is to plan how you are going to achieve the results that you want. Just like planning a holiday of a lifetime, write down how you will get there, how long it will take, how much it will cost (in both money and time), and who you need to take along with you on your journey.
- Once you have a clear picture of exactly what is needed to achieve your goal, take action! Ideas and plans are wonderful, but these will never materialize if you don’t do anything with them.
- There will be obstacles and setbacks on your journey to achievement. This is a major reason why you gain so much satisfaction once you have reached your goal. Stay fully focussed on the finishing line, and deal with setbacks and obstacles as they arise. Be persistent and determined. Have every confidence in your own abilities to achieve what you set out to do!
- Once you cross the finishing line, you will have gained such an amazing sense of achievement. Trust me, you will feel absolutely wonderful. Congratulate yourself on taking control of your life and achieving your dreams.
As you achieve more and more in life, you will want to accomplish more and more. Not only will you reach your set targets, but the confidence in your own abilities will rocket!
