Joanna Martin

I was lucky enough to interview Joanna Martin as part of our regular teleseminar series. Here are a few interesting things about Joanna’s life I would like to share with you.

Joanna Martin is enjoying quick success with her online businesses, but she hasn’t always been an online marketer.  In fact, she started out as a medical doctor.  While she enjoyed helping people, she wasn’t very passionate about what she was doing.  So one day she decided she was going to do what she was passionate about – which was drama and acting.  Joanna went to drama school in Sydney, Australia, for awhile, and it was there that she got involved in the personal development world.

Joanna attended a few personal development type seminars, and realized that it was exactly what she needed to be doing.  The people on stage were helping the audience, and yet, since they were on stage they were also acting in a way.  It seemed the perfect solution to give Joanna a way to pursue her passions in a career – so she became a speaker.

So for about three years, Joanna traveled around the world speaking about personal development and personal success.  She was on the road and on the stage between five to six hundred days during this time.  This was an amazing experience for her that taught her a lot about selling from the stage -what works and what doesn’t work – and she brings that experience to her current mentoring program, Secrets of Selling From the Stage.  She teaches people how to give presentations that take the audience from “who on earth are you?” to “Here is my credit cards, sign me up!”

Joanna’s offline marketing experience included speaking, writing copy and direct mail campaigns – and she discovered that speaking and online marketing was really just taking the words she would normally write for the offline marketing stuff and turning it into what she would say from the stage or put on her website.  The main difference, was that as she delivered the presentation or recorded her voice for a website, her passion and authenticity could be felt and heard by the listeners and audience, and it was more effective than just words on a page.

Recently, she has discovered that offline strategies, including speaking, lend themselves very well to promoting an online business.  She delivers her mentoring program through the internet, but continues to promote it primarily through speaking engagements offline or via teleseminars.

What Our Members Say

Dear Janet and the Wonderful Web Team,

Just a quick note to wish you all a happy new year and a prosperous and fun 2012! It's still 2011 here in Spain but past 2am in Australia so I’m sure as every year it's quite a party over there. I do miss those fabulous Sydney new year’s celebrations!

I would like to say thank you for all that you do for those of us in the WWW community - for the inspiration, interaction and support. Following Janet in the last few years has been one of the most constructive things I have done whilst starting up my own internet business. Not only the wealth of quality advice and instruction but the tips and interviews provided by WWW have been invaluable. Especially for someone like me who is based in a remote location on the other side of the world with a very specialized niche market. I’ve come into contact with so many people through your community. Above all, the integrity and sincerity of the way you conduct business online is a ‘wonderful’ testament to your brand, and sets you apart as a leader in the internet business industry.

Looking forward to progressing in leaps and bounds myself in 2012, and wish you all greater success in 2012.

Kind regards,

Vanessa Jeny
