You know, I could almost hear everyone’s heads nodding in agreement on our call today with Kim Castle. Kim described the vicious cycle that so many of us fall into. You know the one where you are enthusiastic and start a business, after a while when it is not as successful as you would like, you try another idea to see if that will work, etc etc. We all do it at some stage. The challenge is not to confuse tactics with strategies. Tactics (eg a web site, an ebook) are only a part of the picture yet so many of us expect this to give us the long term results that sustain a strong business.

Today Kim shared with us the essential foundation for all businesses. Branding. Now don’t be tempted to think of this as a logo, business cards and colours. That is just the icing on the cake (or the cherry on the ice-cream sundae as Kim described it). What Kim described goes much deeper than that. In this article, I’ll cover some of the steps Kim outlined and also give you some links to gifts from both Kim and myself.

In a hurry? Here is a gift from Kim

4 Steps You Need In Place To Build Your Brand

Kim covered some great content in our one hour together. You can listen to the replays in the GOLD members area now. But for now, let me tell you about the 4 things you need in place before you can go any further.

Manage Your Conditioning

We all have limiting beliefs that stop us from taking action. In Kim’s training (see below) she details the process she uses with her clients to turn any limiting belief into action. It is interesting that every successful woman I have interviewed has stressed the importance of “getting your head straight” first. I love the idea that Kim has created processes for this as the first stage of starting your business.

Define Your Vision

We all start our businesses with an idea and intangible feelings about what we hope to achieve. Kim calls this our gas-like state. The next step is to take that vague concept and refine it so that it connects to customers and has a place for you to grow into. To do this you have to attach it to a solid point out in the future that draws you forward. And, in order for your vision to serve you well it must be very…very specific.

Often, when I ask people why they are learning about internet marketing they say “I want to make money on the internet

Structure The Form Of Your Business

Once you have your vision and know where you want to end up, you need to determine the best form for your business so it can carry you to where you want to go. Often this is the point that entrepreneurs start from and ignore the importance of the first 2 steps. Can you see how important the first 2 steps are if you are going to create a business that will help you realise your dreams? This is where you decide what it is that you offer and what other products and services you need to develop in order to move you closer to your end point.

Focus

Once you know where you want to end up the challenge is to focus. You defined the values that you base on your business on in the second step and that is the essence of your brand. If you make all your decisions based on that focus and refer back to your business structure, you will be able to clearly communicate your brand to your customers. Kim has developed a process for staying focused which she shares as part of the courses that she teaches. You can find out how to attend one of those course free, below.

Kim’s Offer – free tele-class valued at $97

Kim has kindly gifted Wonderful Web Women members access to the teleseminar “How to thrive in business today: The 8 stages of reliable long-lasting success”. Kim charges over $1500 for an hour of her time so you can imagine how much value she will deliver in this seminar. You can enroll for free here.

Another gift from Kim

You can get a copy of Kim’s free ebook “15 mistakes that kill business success” here.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on branding and the 4 steps you must take before you can create an effective brand. Why not share your ideas here on the blog or discuss it with others in our community at Wonderful Web Forum?

Cheers

Hi

Today I interviewed Belinda Jackson, a lovely friend of mine who I have long admired for the strong relationship she has built with her customers and for her very calm and methodical way of explaining difficult concepts. I twisted her arm and convinced her to be interviewed 6 weeks earlier than expected – for 2 reasons.

1. I get emails every day from members asking for help with their blogs

2. Belinda has just launched a 4 part coaching program on blogging which includes her setting up your blog for you and lots of other incredible help. She was only going to release it to her own database at a very low pre-launch special. I’ve convinced her to make that offer available to Wonderful Web Women too.

You can see her offer here (if there are any left as she has limited numbers). Then read on for really helpful tips from today’s call. (by the way, Belinda will also include a special guide on Search Engine Optimisation for your blog for any Wonderful Web Women who take up her offer).

The 3 P’s of On-line Marketing

Make sure you have these 3 P’s in your business and you will succeed

Presence – If you don’t have a web site  / blog yet, Get one. Simply put, you need to have a place where people can find you and you can start interacting with them

Promotion – you need to tell people about your web site. This means on-line and off-line. It also means making sure your web site is ranked high in the search engines. Belinda covered in detail how to use your blog to rank high in Google

Persuasion - Use your blog to persuade people to join your mailing list and ultimately buy from you. This is where ezine marketing in combination with your blog is essential. Belinda commented that it is this last “P” that people usually neglect.

We covered a lot of detail on how to use your blog, which plug ins to use, how to use email best with a blog etc. Our mastermind call after the interview turned into a question and answer session as Belinda was kind enough to stay with us for an extra hour. The recordings will be in the gold member’s area in a couple of hours. There is so much to cover, but let me share with you…

The 6 Benefits Of Blogging

1. Blogs are easy and cheap to set up (cheap to get a designer to create compared to a typical web site and free to set up if you use WordPress and do it yourself

2. Blogs are easy to maintain. Once you set up your blog you can easily add new content, add audio, images and products to sell. You don’t need to rely ona web designer.

3. Google and other search engines love blogs. Perfect for SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)

4. Great place to show off. You can develop credibility through the content you provide. Visitors to your site get to know you, then hopefully like you and trust you.

5. Great Communication tool. Blogs allow your website visitors to leave comments and interact with you.

6. Develops with you. You can completely change the look of your site by changing the theme. It is easy to add in new “plug ins”, extra bits of software that add great extra functions to your blog with little hassle.

I hope this gives you a few ideas to start with. Take the time to listen to the interview and the Q & A session in the bonus recordings part of the gold members area. If mastering blogging and the techy part is holding you back, make sure you check out Belinda’s offer. It is the perfect solution to the problem I know many of our members have and I know absolutely that Belinda will look after you really well.

P.S. I’d love to hear your experience with blogging. Many people on the call had great tips to share. Why not share your experiences here on the blog, or discuss them in more detail over at www.wonderfulwebforum.com

Hi

I loved the interview with Sandy Forster today. She shared how she went from single mum on welfare and $100,000 in debt to now making millions. The big thing that Sandy attributed her success to was “retraining” her subconscious to a millionaire mindset. You’ll really have to listen to the interview as she gave some amazing techniques to use to retrain your mind.

I’d like to share with you here the technique that Sandy used when she first took real action to retrain her  mind. The thing that I found fascinating was that she was taking a lot of action in the right direction (shares, property investing etc) but was losing money. The one thing that really changed her fortune was a change in her subconscious. As soon as she completed the steps I am about to share with you, her fortune changed dramatically. So let’s give it a go!

In a hurry? Here’s Sandy’s offer

Sandy has made an amazing offer just for Wonderful Web Women members and I am very grateful. It is incredibly good value. Listeners on the call had purchased it and were downloading it before the call had even finished!

Fake it ’till you make it – tricking your subconscious

Sandy mentioned repeating an affirmation she created hundreds of times per day until she believed what she was saying.

Her affirmation was “I am now a debt free millionaire”. Now your rational mind at first says “yeh sure” so Sandy shared her baby steps way to fooling your mind into believing.

  • She started by saying “I am now ready to accept that I am in the process of becoming a debt free millionaire”.
  • After repeating this for days she changed it to ”I am in the process of becoming a debt free millionaire”.
  • Repeated for days she then felt comfortable to say her final affirmation “I am now a debt free millionaire”.

The important thing is to repeat it hundreds or thousands of times per day for weeks until you believe it. And when your fortunes slip, go back and start again as a top up. It is also very important that you FEEL what you are saying. It is your emotions in tandem with the affirmation that create the change.

Here’s my challenge to you.

This is such a great idea and also one that I think is very challenging. Why not share what your affirmation will be with the rest of our community on the forum. Let us know what effect it has on you. Is it easy, hard, will it work, will it never work?

Will you show me yours if I show you mine?

As Sandy reinforced – action is what will really create your success so here goes. I commit to repeating hundreds of times per day the following affirmation and let you know the results. Sandy stressed the affirmation must be personalised so you can relate to it. Visit the forum to read my personal affirmation and share your ideas. I’ll keep you up to date on the results this week.

Cheers

We received so many great ideas from people who filled out the member survey last week and we are already taking action. I’ll be giving you feedback over the next couple of weeks on the results of the survey but hey, why wait to finsinh the number crunching when you can start taking action now?

Member Profiles

One of the things members said was they would like a way to get to know other members better. A few people suggested an area on the web site for member profiles. Well here it is…..

As a benefit for GOLD members you can now easily add a profile to Wonderful Web Women and be featured in the Member Profile area here.

How often do you get a chance to have a dedicated page on a high ranking web site with:

  • your profile
  • your biography
  • Your contact details (if you choose to)
  • Links to 5 of your web sites

Not often!

How to get a higher ranking in the search engines

In another article here in the blog I’ll give you the details about our new feature “rank and review resources on this site”. Here’s how you can use this new feature to get you ranking higher in the search engines with links to your site:

  • Create a member profile and start providing honest and useful reviews of the interviews, videos, books and software on Wonderful Web Women. Every time you post a review the search engines will pick up these links to your web sites.
  • The more active you are in the community, the higher up the list you go. So, members who have reviewed audios, products and videos and left helpful comments for other members when reviewing, go to the top of the page automatically.
  • Even better, you will develop a well earned reputation for being a thoughtful reviewer and valuable member of this community.

Can’t wait to see your profile there. To start your profile, log into the GOLD members area and click on the link on the left hand side down the bottom “add your profile”. Just follow the instructions. It only takes about 5 minutes.

Cheers

Janet

This week I sent out an invitation to take part in our first on-line survey. Thank you so much to everyone who took the time to tell me a little bit about your self. The suggestions you gave us have been terrific and we will give you feedback on all of the results after we analyse them this week.

Every one who took part in the survey was given the chance to enter the draw to win a life time membership of Wonderful Web Women – valued at $1128. I’ve always wondered how prizes are drawn – especially when you enter on-line. So I thought I’d involve you in the drawing of the prize. Watch this short video below as our 2 Wonderful Web Kids draw the winner out of the hat (notice that Phoebe even manages to slip in a shameless plug of her own web site!).

If you can’t view the video below, just click this link to go directly to the video on YouTube.
