A strategy to banish limiting beliefs and attract success
Filed under: Featured Speakers, Law of Attraction, Personal Development
Yesterday I interviewed Gabriela Rosa about Self Saboteurs and what to do about them. It was powerful stuff.
Gabriela uses (amongst many things) a technique called EFT to help overcome fears and limiting beliefs that are holding us back from success. I’ve included a brief intro to this below but first let’s talk about common limiting beliefs and fears. Also, I recommend you check out Gabriela’s offer to help you, it is incredibly generous. You can see the details in this article here.
What is a limiting belief?
You know that little voice that niggles in the back of your head that stops you being exceptional? The one that says things like “you aren’t good enough”, “Other people are much better at this than you”, “people will find out you’re a fraud / hypocrite / idiot”. These are the thoughts that often sit in our subconscious and prevent us attracting the success we deserve.
Yesterday, many of our members shared the negative thoughts that plague them. I’m very grateful for their courage in doing this as we quickly came to realise that many of the people on the call had the same doubts. Let me share the most common ones with you and see if you can relate to them.
1. I’m not good enough. Other people think I can do this but they don’t realise that I’m not that good and I will look like a fool when I let them down.
2. I’ll never make money on the Internet. I’m just not techy. I’m so angry and frustrated that I have to rely on others and i know I can never do this.
3. It doesn’t matter if I learn all this marketing stuff and apply it all. I don’t think I will get the same results as others. They are just different to me.
Wow. I know I can relate to these. When you log into the members area of Wonderful Web Women, navigate to the audio section in the new category “Getting your head straight”. You can can hear Gabriela guide 3 members through overcoming these thoughts in less than 15 minutes. Incredibly inspiring.
EFT - Emotional Freedom Technique
Emotional Freedom Technique is best described as emotional acupuncture without needles. It also works extremely well for physical aspects, such as physical pain. EFT helps to “re-organise” the body and mind, inducing relaxation, which enables a realignment of the body’s energy systems.
The information below is taken from the handout that Gabriela gifted us which is available with the audio of the interview for GOLD members of Wonderful Web Women. I found that Gabriela has a real skill for understanding the underlying issue and choosing the right phrase for you to use. That’s why I recommend you listen to the recordings of the interview. EFT in a nutshell
Memorise the basic recipe. Aim it at any emotional or physical problem by customizing it with an appropriate ‘setup affirmation’ and Reminder Phrase. Be specific where possible. Where necessary be persistent until all aspects of the problem have vanished. Try it on everything!
The Basic Recipe
The Setup—While continuously rubbing the sore sport or tapping the karate chop (KC) point, repeat the following affirmation 3 times:
“Even though I have this (name the problem—reminder), I deeply and completely accept myself.”
The Sequence—Tap about 7 times on each of the following energy points while repeating the reminder phrase at each point.
Eye brow | Side of eye | Under eye | Under nose | Chin | Collar bone | Under arm | Top of Head | Karate chop
The 9 Gamut Procedure—Continuously tap on the Gamut point while performing each of these 9 actions:
1) Close eyes, 2) Open eyes, 3) Eyes hard down left, 4) hard down right, 5) Roll eyes in circle, 6) Roll eyes in other direction, 7) Hum 2 seconds of a song,
Count to 5, 9) Hum 2 seconds of a song.
The Sequence (again)—Tap about 7 times on each of the following energy points while repeating the reminder phrase at each point.
Eye brow | Side of eye | Under eye | Under nose | Chin | Collar bone | Under arm | Top of Head | Karate chop
Note: In subsequent rounds the setup affirmation and reminder phrase are adjusted to reflect the fact you are addressing the remaining issue.
