Build Your List With The Wonderful Web Giveaway Project
Filed under: Collaborative Projects, Give Away Events, How To Get Traffic, List Building, Members Opportunities, Where to Start, events
Today we launched (well pre-launched really) the very first Wonderful Web Give away project. A few weeks ago I survey all of the members of Wonderful Web Women to ask you what you biggest frustrations are and how we can help you create success on the Internet. One of the biggest frustrations people face is starting a mailing list and getting traffic to your site.
So we’re doing something about it. I invite you to join us as a contributor to this project so we can help you grow your mailing list. But we are doing more than simply inviting you. We have also set up ways to help you join us. So if you have no list, no product and no idea, we can help you. Read on to get all the details. I’ve put everything in point form to make it easy for you to get the facts without reading too much
What is a Give away event?
- Dozens, or even hundreds of people contribute a product as a gift to a give-away project site. In order for people to receive each gift, they need to subscribe to the contributor’s mailing list. Each contributor sends traffic to the site so every contributor benefits from the mailing list of each other contributor (also known as Joint Venture Partner or JV Partner).
- You can see a flow chart I have created that tells you how the process works, what you need to do to take part and how you build your list. Let me know what you think of it. I love flow charts.
Details of the Wonderful Web Giveaway
- Launch Date: June 19th 2008, Sydney time
- Date you need to have your contribution in: June 10th, Sydney time
- How long you have to prepare: About 6 or 7 weeks
- Web site url: www.WonderfulWebGiveaway2008.com (The web site is not live yet)
- Who can join?: Free and Gold members of Wonderful Web Women, male and female
- Who else can join?: we will also invite other JV partners when the site goes live in a couple of weeks. The more JV partners the bigger your list will be.
- What is the theme?: Tools to help you create success in all parts of your life (business, personal, health, finances, family etc)
- Must your gifts be your own work?: Please don’t submit products that are available everywhere. You are not doing yourself a favour. You can create your own product or edit and adapt a product you have “private label rights to”. This means you have permission to change the original product and put your own name on it. If you do gift a product that you just resell rights to, please make sure it is not everywhere on the net. You will not get many people joining your list.
- Can you use the “Law of Attraction in Action” publication as your gift?: Not for this giveaway (we would have too many). This is a great book to use in other giveaways though)
How Can We Help You?
- Stephanie Mulac, veteran of many giveaway projects is acting as our consultant on this project (thanks Stephanie, we love you).
- You can purchase her excellent product which has every thing you need to take part in a give-away project if you have no list, no product and no idea! It is very reasonably priced.
- All gold members and also purchasers of Stephanie’s product, are invited to an open question and answer session in about 2 weeks (date to be confirmed). This is a special gift from Stephanie to our members (thanks again Stephanie).
- I will hold another open question and answer session before the project is launched for gold members to help you get your product and offer ready.
- Wonderful Web Forum. Visit the forum to brainstorm ideas with other members, get help and advice and the latest updates. I visit the forum often to answer questions. This is where the action will be.
- Join a peer mastermind group: All gold members (yes, even $1 trial members) are invited to join a peer mastermind group. We help you find members, set you up with your own communication hub, facilitate your first meeting and help you keep going. You can find out more here. You can register your interest in the forum or just contact us through the help desk on the Wonderful Web Women site. You can join a group to help each other create your products and join the project.
What next?
http://www.wonderfulwebwomen.com/recommends/giveaway2008 and let everyone know you are joining us. Share ideas, look for help and ask questions. Most importantly, this will be FUN!
Cheers
Janet

What a great idea Janet. Count me in for sure. Thanks for your continued efforts.
Didn’t I tell you that Stephanie would be the “perfect” guest for your show?
She reminds me of you in many ways, Janet…
She’s smart, funny, and has a heart of gold!
She really wants to see people succeed.
Count me in for the giveaway! I wouldn’t miss this opportunity to build my list!

Greetings:
I would love to be a part of this jv. I already purchased Stephanie’s product, though, through Kristi Sayles and in fact, I gained 33 leads already from a current giveaway.

I am looking forward to this event.
It should be a good one.
When considering a giveaway event, it is important to have the right script to run it smoothly.
The Giveaway Manager 2 script has gone through some thorough beta testing and has proved itself to be the best one available.
I have been involved in several events using this script and they have all been valuable to Me in gaining new subscribers. I highly recommend it.
Cheers!

I would be interested in doing this…however is this just for marketing items or is it also for people who offer direct sales products or parenting resources as well?
Hi Patty & Readers,
A giveaway event has 5 essential elements.
1) Build your list by offering an item of your own making, or someone else’s (with permission). The gift is offered in exchange for the person’s name & email.
Example: One of My Gifts
2) Once the person is on your list, you can follow-up with them to point them towards other resources you may have – paid or free or both, as long as they remain a subscriber to your list
3) Encourage others to join as contributors (list builders) or members (want the goodies – usually beginners).
Strictly No Spamming to get new members!
4) When they do join, they would be see a One Time Offer (OTO) when they sign in. By entering your details for either Paypal or Clickbank, you have the opportunity to pick up some affiliate earnings from those who joined from your link.
5) Option to join as a Premium (paid) partner. Usually this means that if a Premium partner wants any of the gifts on offer, they can bypass the sign-up process to the gift and go directly to the download location of the individual gift(s) on offer.
Participating in more than one giveaway event helps to grow your lists bigger.
Many resources inside giveaway events are designed to help people understand more about giveaway events, List buidling resources, traffic resources, blogging resources, Gifted Memberships to particular sites and many more general marketing or niche gifts.
I would suggest you join a couple of them to see how they work.
Here are 2 examples of current giveaways (at time of post)
Advertising & Traffic Resources Ends April 27th
Charity Event in aid of Multiple Sclerosis Society Ends April 26th
If you do not have an Autoresponder to capture leads and build your list, I recommend this one:
Pro Autoresponder for Less
I hope this helps to understand what goes on at a giveaway event.
Kind regards,
Jason

Hi Folks
Thanks for all your comments and questions. I have just purchased Giveaway Manager 2 script on Stephanie’s recommendation and it looks great. Heaps of opportunities to make this event unique.
Over the next weeks Douglas (The Wonderful Web Man) will be learning the software and we will be putting the new site together. I will also be creating a JV blog on the site with a FAQ so you can get all the answers in the one spot. But here’s a start:
The focus will not just be on marketing as I really want this to be an opportunity for our members who have varied niche’s to grow a list. So the foclus will be on creating success in your life. This may be financial success but also personal and family success. So this does open it to quite a few different things.
I also plan to have a way for you to make money from the event by offering the option for visitors to upgrade to a paid level with a new product which will be created especially for this event. I’ll fill you in on this closer to the event opening but it will give you a chance to make affiliate sales as well as grow your list. I’m quite excited about the product I have planned.
Cheers
Janet
Hey, Kristi thanks for your lovely comments. I love the way one person leads to another which leads to new partnerships and new opportunities. Definitely the law of attraction in action!
Cheers

Hay Janet, Sharon and Coach Kathy here from the http://cooltoolsgiveaway.com and I just thought I would stop in and see what was going on with your giveaway. Sounds like it is really going to be a great event and you can count us in.
As we are currently in the process of running our own giveaway for the very first time we will be dropping by with info for your readers on what happens on the sponsors side of a giveaways as well as on the contributors side.
There is a lot of hype on how many people one can add to their mailing list at any one event, but our feeling is that even if you only get a few sign ups those are ones you didn’t have in the first p[lace and they may become your most loyal fans, so it is well worth anyones time and effort to join giveaways.
Till next time,
Sharon and Coach Kathy
