Free tele-conference services

Loading ...An update on the teleconferencing tool we use. http://www.thebasementventures.com is the free conference and recording software I have used for well over a year and still use. It works well for me. For a few weeks we couldn’t access the recordings (luckily we back up on Instant Tele-seminar) so Lisa on our team researched the other options. Just when we were ready to move, it all started working again. The Basement Ventures has the most features so I have decided to stick with it for the moment.
However…..
Some people are still having problems. So I recommend http://www.nocostconference.com . It is very similar to the basement Ventures. The only difference is you can’t stay on the line,finish a recording, then start another one while still on the same line. You need to hang up, call in and start another recording. This probably won’t affect most people. It affects me because I record an interview, stop the recording, then open the lines for a general mastermind call Q & A and record that separately for our gold members. That’s the reason I have stayed with The Basement Ventures.

I was talking to Heather Vale the other day (I interviewed Heather last year about how to do great interviews). She has switched to this program. She says the MP3 recordings are not very good quality but the .wav recordings they also make available are very good quality. She relies on the recordings from Instant Teleseminar for her professional interviews but has free conference pro as a back up.
A thing I really like about http://www.freeconferencepro.com is you can personalise the message people hear when they first dial in. So this sounds really professional. Heather does this and when I rang her conference line the other day (she was interviewing me, how amazing to be on the other end of a great interviewer) I thought “wow, Heather is using a sophisticated system, must be expensive” but it was the free service. So that is a real plus I reckon.
I’d love to hear your experiences with using conference recording facilities.

Have you looked at InstantConference? They have everything Basement Ventures has–free conferencing, free recording, moderator controls, and a good online account management system, with subaccount setup so you can organize your calls into groups with an access code for each. They also just launched an Enterprise version. For $25 per month, you get free desktop sharing for as many participants as you need, unlimited recording and storage, larger conference size (250), phone support and multiple account management (with the same subaccount system for each account and the same moderator controls). Recordings are sent in mP3 format.

I’ve had problems on a number of occasions trying to dial into the American Free Conference Lines.
I’ve finally discovered this Australian company which
has a local dial-in no. for every state of Australia as well as countries like the U.S. and U.K. and it’s very reliable, easy to use and has many features including recordings in MP3.
