Loading ...I’m so excited. It’s our birthday in a few days (our? Yep Wonderful Web Women turns 2) and there are presents all around. I received the most exciting present this week and I have gifts for you. Oooh I’m just squirming with the excitement of it all.
This week 1000 copies of my very first book arrived at my doorstep. Even more exciting, thanks to my brilliant publisher Darren Stephens (the marketing genius behind Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus), the book has so many pre-orders it is already an INTERNATIONAL best -seller.
I was so excited when the truck arrived I took photos of the truck, opening the truck, the pallet of books, unloading the books, moving the books, opening the box…..the poor delivery man thought I was mad. But you know what? I don’t care. How often do you become a best-seller?

Poor delivery man. I took photos of the truck, photos of him opening the truck, cutting the plastic from the pallet, unloading the books, packing the books. I was a bit excited.

The Ideal Buying Experience

Today I had the pleasure of interviewing Deb LaQua about automating a new Internet business. This was a great call for people who are new to Internet Marketing and are overwhelmed by the sheer amount there is to learn. She shares where to start and had a great piece of advice: “concentrate on what you need to do next and just do it. You don’t have to learn everything before you start because by the time you get around to implementing the more advanced strategies, everything will have changed anyway”. Such great advice for the many people who feel they have to understand everything about building an Internet business before they start. So just do it!
Deb had a great way of explaining the important steps you need to consider to make sure your web site provides a great buying experience for your customer. She relates it to the perfect buying experience you have when you go into a shop. I don’t know about you, but great buying experiences in shops are far less common that terrible ones.

Frankenstein model of internet marketing

(No Ratings Yet) Loading ...One of the most frequent questions I get is “what’s the best way for me to accept money online for my products?”
The answer?
Well, it depends…..
I think of it as the Frankenstein model because you bolt together different components to create the best solution which at the time makes you feel like you are creating a monster. There are a few “all in one packages” but so far the ones I have used fall short of satisfactory. The main reason being, if you try to be best at everything you often end up being mediocre. For this reason, it is often better to use components from different companies, but each of those components is the best at what they do.
These are the main components you will need to create your Frankenstein:
- A web site (I recommend using Wordpress to create your site. This is the basis of the web sites we create for our customers at Wonderful Web Solutions)
- A shopping cart (this is where they enter their credit card details and it orders the product)
- A way to get the money in your bank account
- An email auto-responder program – so you can out it all on auto-pilot
- An affiliate program – so you can have a motivated workforce making sales for you
