Ok. “Get Your Head Straight” may seem like a weird phrase to use but it’s the simplest way I can explain how to create success in your life. Every successful person I have been fortunate enough to interview has spent time at some stage really looking within and straightening out their thoughts. In fact, I would go as far as to say that it doesn’t matter how many marketing courses, technical courses and business courses you invest in, these skills will not get you where you deserve to be if your mind is holding you back.
One of the most common things we do is to sabotage our own success. Often we don’t realise we are doing it and we very cleverly rationalise why we haven’t taken that risk, actioned that opportunity or stepped outside our comfort zone.
Do these phrases sound familiar to you?
I need to know how to make a website and set up auto-responders before I can start to make money on the Internet.
I didn’t really want that client / job as really they weren’t what I wanted.
It is impossible to run a successful business and be a good mother at the same time (yep, this is one i have used)
Other people know so much more on this topic than I do. If I set myself up as if I am an expert I will look like a fool.
All these phrases make absolute rational sense but are they the real reason you have not created the success you want? Go on. Look deeper and really think about this.
I don’t know about you, but I need a lot of guidance when it comes to doing the necessary subconscious work that is absolutely essential to success. Every time I peel a layer back my business and personal life jumps to another level.
“Fear of Being Fabulous”
That is why this week I invited experts Judith Sherven and Jim Sniechowski to share with you the techniques they have developed over 20 years and thousands of clients. Techniques to help you overcome what they call “the Fear of Being Fabulous”. I was fortunate to see Jim and Judith teach these techniques live when I presented at The Bridging Heart and Marketing Conference in LA last year. I was amazed at how quickly participants were able to peel back the layers and get real results.
Judith and Jim have created an excellent program to guide you through this process at home and for a limited time (and for my readers only) they have given an incredible $200 discount. You can get all the details here.
Let me share with you just a few of the tips they shared.
- Very often we don’t know what the thought or emotion is that is holding us back. This is because many times the thoughts we have about ourselves were formed before we could even speak ourselves. So they are beyond what we can remember. Or we just don’t realise how significant they are because they are in our subconscious.
- Identifying a thought or emotion is one of the most important things you can do. If you can label it, you are moving it from your subconscious to your conscious brain. Judith and Jim share many techniques in their program to help you identify what those thoughts are in your subconscious.
- A very powerful way of identifying your thoughts and emotions is through journaling. This is not just because you are keeping a record of your thoughts and emotions but another important benefit. When you write down what you are feeling and thinking you are using your conscious brain to move a thought from your subconscious. To change your thoughts you need to move them to your conscious brain.
- When you identify a belief that is holding you back from being “fabulous”, acknowledge it and accept it as being there and choose to give it less importance. Of course, this is just a very simple interpretation of what to do. This is where Judith and Jim’s program can really help you.
This is just a small fraction of what we covered on our call. The interview is available already for gold members of Wonderful Web Women. We had some challenges with our technology during the call but on the advice of listeners we have not edited this out. This is because the way we handled the technology challenges actually served as a teaching tool to demonstrate the concepts Judith and Jim were talking about.
Talk about turning lemons in margaritas!
