Are you a talented, intelligent entrepreneur who gets in front of a video camera and turns into someone who looks and sounds like a moron? There’s something about the pressure of a video camera and the knowledge that it will be plastered across the Internet that can turn you into a waffling amateur.
Yep. I’m one of them!
This week Ludwina Dautovic shared some great tips to make you look and sound like a pro. Try this when you are filming your next 3 to 10 minute video to go on your web site.
Plan Your Content Outline
Your video should have the following structure:
- Intro
- 3 key points for the content (short videos, just say a sentence on each, longer videos you can expand)
- Close and call to action (what do you want them to do next?)
Create an Acronym or Letters for Your 3 Points
If you make the 3 points really easy to remember you won’t need to refer to notes. Reading from your notes (unless quoting statistics) makes you look like an amateur).
For example, when I present from stage I use the 3 Ps which stand for Passion, People, Profit. If you get stumped, you just remember the letters.
Practice in front of a mirror
Yep. Practice looking into your own eyes and rehearse at least 3 times. Notice your body language and just get used to yourself.
Shoot 3 and choose the best
Editing videos is a drag so you want to get a good shot first time. So shoot the video 3 times, choose the best and then just get on with it.
Love to hear your ideas and see any videos you create. Why not share them here for others to see (and make sure you include a link to your site)
