If you’re like me you don’t always take the time to really reward yourself for achieving wins in your business. As entrepreneurs we often think “Great that worked, now what’s next”. But if you don’t take the time to really reward yourself and create a ritual around celebrating, you’ll burn out and stop creating value.

In this video I share with you a clever idea suggested by my entrepreneurial friends (and Wonderful Web Women Faculty Members) Stacey Barr and Belinda Jackson. They recognised this common problem and have a wonderful solution. Love to know if you use this simple idea yourself.

    Hi Janet,
Love the idea of the reward box, I am notoriously bad at celebrating my wins, I tend to just say ‘Next’. I think starting my reward box over Easter would be a great idea and lots of fun.

    Thanks for the suggestion,

Yours in Outrageously Health and Wellbeing

    What a wonderful idea!

Janet I can’t wait to make my Reward Box. Thank you.

I think I’ll make mine a little larger than your beautiful box – there are a lot of ways I love to celebrate and I want to make sure they all fit! lol

Enjoy your unplugged break, not only because you so deserve it for all the hard work you do for us all at WWW, but because you won the Marketer of The Year and certainly deserve to celebrate that great accolade.

I’ll look forward t hearing from “automated Janet” as you describe her, in your absence. Keep well, keep safe, and keep happy!

    Blessings

  3. Hey Lenore and Lyn, thanks for your comments. I really love this idea and intend to encourage my children and man to create their own celebration / reward boxes.
Love to hear what you reward yourself with
    Cheers

Thanks for that Janet, what a great idea – you are absolutely right, we do just say *next* & move on. I’ll be making up such a box over Easter too.

Well Happy Birthday Janet I am sure all your rewards are worth it. As a business owner it is really hard to take time for yourself. But in order to be productive you must take the time for just you. Your reward box is such a wonderful idea, I would love to share with my list. As women we work hard everyday ans sometimes we forget to pat ourselves on the back. It’s time we did Say Thank you to me.
Have a wonderful time looking forward to hearing from you on your well deserved vacation.

Happy Birthday Janet – and do enjoy your wonderful holiday!

The ‘box concept’ is a wonderful one I use in lots of ways …

    1. For our 20th anniversary, I gave my husband a box of ‘52 Reasons I love You’. It sits on his desk and he can pull one out and get a special message from me. Originally I thought he’d read one per week, but he’s enjoying one per day! When I worried my gift wouldn’t last too long, he said: ‘that’s OK … I forget what I’ve read within a day or so, so each one is still a surprise – even if I’ve already read it!’

    2. When my mother’s memory was failing towards the end of her life, I made a ‘Memory Box’ for her, filled with memories I have of all the years we’ve had together.

    3. My ‘Pride Box’ – has all the reasons I am proud of myself … and I put additional entries in it whenever I have a proud moment. A great booster when I have ‘one of those days’!

    4. My ‘Fun Box’ – similar to your Celebration Box, but is filled with fun things I want to do – either alone or with family or friends. A great way to keep life spiced up!

Hope that gives you and other members some helpful ideas – and happy Easter to everyone. Cheers! Sandi

    Hi there Janet

Great video, just what I needed to hear.

Inspired by your message, instead of working all day in my office, I will treat myself and go down to Woy Woy’s Gnostic Cafe, plug my laptop in and work over a large cappuccino and foccacia.

    Have a fun birthday.

  11. Sandi I SOOO love those ideas. Really love the 52 reasons I love you. How special is that! Hey Christine the Gnostic does great coffee and such great ambience. It is a great thing to do isn’t it? Stacey and Belinda have a wonderful creative streak each (and also a bit of cheekiness which I love) so they often inspire me with ideas.

  12. HI Janet,

perfect timing! For weeks now, I’ve been planning to print out all my great reviews and feedback yet for some reason I’ve been putting it off. So I’m going to do it right now and when I’ve done it and I’m feeling very successful and proud, I’ll choose something wonderful to do to celebrate (I think it will probably involve a spa of some description…).
So thanks for reminding me to take the time to honour my achievements. I’m sure that doing so will renew my faith in myself to go on to bigger and better things!
    Have a great holiday!
