#49 Web TV: How To Price Your Programs

How do you decide how much to charge for your products, programs and services? Do you match your competitors? Go cheaper, more expensive? Do you work out the costs of a product and add a percent for profit? This is a dilemma we all face in business and it is one of the things I work closely with my Platinum and private clients to get right.

In this week’s episode I share a strategy that will make you look at pricing your programs completely differently. In fact, when I shared this strategy on the Shine Online Group Coaching call last week one of our members on the call started crying! She shared they were tears of joy and relief because not knowing what to charge had stopped her taking the next steps in her business and getting her programs out there.

I hope this can help you too.

I’d love to hear your thoughts.

To find out more, watch this quick video in this week’s episode of Wonderful Web TV. Your Monday dose of Motivation, Mindset and Marketing.
I’d love to hear your comments and any tips you’d like to share. Share your thoughts below. I’ll come back and join in the conversation.

Cheers

  1. Thanks for again bringing up the topic of what to charge. I remember hearing you say several years ago that if you are extremely nervous about a price, thinking it’s too high, that is probably what you should charge. Especially for people who have been comfortable giving away their material (like myself for many years) thinking that people will then buy your material, it feels good to believe your material is well worth what you charge.

    • People who are in a helping profession (and let’s face us, most of us are even though we not think so) often find it very difficult to charge what they are worth and even charge at all. It’s one of the biggest mental hurdles we need to get over. Another way I look at it is…..how much money do I have to receive in order not to resent the time I send with the customer. The time I would otherwise spend with my kids. That one really helped me at the beginning.

  2. Janet, this is a great idea! The whole suite of our offerings really should work in unison, to help people move with comfort and excitement to each level. I would add that thinking about *value* to the customer is also important in pricing. If a product can save the customer heaps of time or struggle, or can help them more quickly achieve a goal (like revenue increase or greater customer loyalty) then it should be priced with that value in mind. What do you think?

    • Love your note they should move with comfort and EXCITEMENT. Lovely distinction. Spot on re the the value to the client as simply looking at your own expenses and time isn’t enough. That’s why products that help you make big sums of money (such as with real estate) usually have high prices.

  3. Love the new Look !!!
