Jane: Hello everyone and welcome to this weeks episode of Rising Star Radio. I’m your host Jane Hinchey and you can find me at www.janehinchey.com. Today I’m delighted to be speaking with Sherrie Mulconry. Welcome Sherrie.
Sherrie: Hi Jane, how are you?
Jane: I am very well. Thank you so much for taking the time out to join us today. Now to get us started, why don’t you share with us who you serve and how you serve them?
Sherrie: Sure. My business is Life Makeovers and I offer Coaching, Counselling and Hypnotherapy Programs. I can basically serve anybody and everybody. My niche is weightloss and weight control so, in that area I mainly serve women from 25 up to 55 would be the niche market there. Although weightloss is what I specialize, in I also see people for varying issues, so anything from stop smoking, phobias, confidence, study skills; basically any issue that people are struggling with and want to get better results from.
Jane: Oh that sounds great, I need to tell you about my dental phobia then! How can people get in touch with you? Do you have a website?
Sherrie: Yes, I do the main website is www.lifemakeovers.com.au and I’m also on Facebook.
Jane: Is that the same name on Facebook?
Sherrie: yes, that’s right.
Jane: Fantastic. Now of course, you are a member of the Wonderful Web Women Community, can you tell us what program or product you have purchased and taken action on?
Sherrie: I firstly came across Janet at a weekend conference in Newcastle put on by the Hunter Business Women’s Network and Janet was one of the speakers there and she also had a stand and I purchased her book Internet Marketing Secrets which was really, really helpful and from that I then joined the Gold Members program.
Jane: Fantastic. So, what did you learn from the book and from being a Gold Member Wonderful Web Women that led you to taking action?
Sherrie: With the Internet Secrets book, the thing that I found really useful was the actual practical hands on instructions on how to register a domain name, how to get hosting, which companies to use; because that was something that always held me back, I knew what I wanted to do but didn’t know how to get started.
With the Gold Membership, I’ve made lots of contacts on the community Facebook page and pick up lots and lots of tips and I find it so helpful because, if I’ve got a question if I’m stuck on something I can put a question up there and somebody comes in with an answer, and usually several people come in with answers so it’s really, really helpful.
Jane: It is, it is a wonderful forum our Facebook group isn’t it?
Sherrie: It sure is.
Jane: So then, what has changed for you as a result of you taking that action and getting your domain organised?
Sherrie: Well I’ve been able to create some other websites and I’m in the process of perfecting those. I’ve registered a weightloss Newcastle site and I’ve created that from WordPress and downloaded the Optimize Press as Janet recommended in one of her presentations and I’m in the process of learning how to make that look more appealing and putting on all the bells and whistles.
Jane: That is brilliant. So what I’m hearing from is that you sound like you’ve never had this technical aspect before of having an online presence and you’ve gone from having nothing to having more than one website that you have built yourself using WordPress and Optimize Press, is that right?
Sherrie: Yes, that’s right
Jane: That is magnificent, well done. That’s a really, really big achievement. You must be very pleased with yourself.
Sherrie: I am and I’m looking forward to downloading the Shopping Cart for the next stage.
Jane: Yes, the good old shopping cart can be a bit challenging. That’s really great that you’ve come from never having built a website before to building your own websites – from reading a book that got you started then part of the Gold Membership. Wonderful.
Sherrie: Yes, the videos are really good. The visual step by step is really helpful.
Jane: It is, Janet gives some really good advice and some of that background stuff like What theme did you use? is really useful when you are just starting out.
Sherrie: That’s right.
Jane: Now are there any tips you can share with our listeners today that they can take action on themselves?
Sherrie: Just really identifying your emotions. Everything we do comes from thoughts, leads to emotions and feelings and emotions and feelings lead to actions. So if you are avoiding something or procrastinating you need to actually ask yourself what’s going on and identify what’s holding you back. Once you deal with those issues and release any negative messages or any negative things that are holding you back, then you can move forward.
Jane: Fantastic, that is really good advice there. A lot of the times when you have a block like that you don’t face it you just push whatever it is aside and don’t face up to what your problem may be.
Sherrie: That’s right and people will often get busy sabotaging themselves as a way of not dealing with what they should be dealing with and just really wasting a lot of time. So the best thing to do is always connect with your emotions and deal with them and that way you can reach the goals that you are wanting to reach.
Jane: Absolutely fantastic brilliant advice. Now is there anything else that you wanted to say today?
Sherrie: Just that I’m really glad I’m in the Wonderful Web community, it’s been an inspiration and I’m looking forward to learning more of the technical side.
Jane: Brilliant. Thanks so much Sherrie for your time today and sharing your experiences with us.
Sherrie: It’s been a pleasure.
Jane: This has been Jane Hinchey. Thank you for listening and don’t forget to tune in next week for another Rising Star Radio interview.
