Here is a free book I have written that explains how to get started with affiliate marketing, as well as heaps of tips on how to make money as an affiliate, even if you don’t have a web site.

You may be interested to know that a huge % of my income is from affiliate sales. You start small and then build large.

Here are Tracy’s criteria for choosing a Network Marketing company

1. You must be passionate about the product and the service provided
2. the product must have a continuity of sales for each customer so you have a residual income
3. The team you are with must have great support. Shop around for your up-line
4. They must have a generous compensation plan
5. They must have a good track record. Do your research on the company. If they are a new company, do your research on the founders
6. They must have a good system in place. This is where many don’t do well which is why Tracy created her excellent system to provide this for you.

Traditional Network Marketers

Way before the Internet and way before affiliate programs there were Network Marketing Programs. Also called Multi-level marketing companies. This is one of the biggest industries in the world. That’s ok. Do the best you can and our volunteer editors will give you feedback if your work needs improving. Last year, many people wrote their first article / chapter ever and the quality was excellent. They had doubts before they started too.

Once I am a contributor does my name end up on the front page of Wonderful Web Women or is this another process?

No. Only our guest speakers are listed on the home page of Wonderful Web Women. You will be listed on the speaker feature page of Wonderful Law of Attraction.

Can you put YouTube links into book?

Sure. A suggestion is to take a screen grab of the video and then put this image in the book. We can then put the link to the video below the image.

What format do you need the chapter submission ?

We have provided a word template for you to use. Please use that as it will make it so much easier for us to put the final document together. Here is the link to download it.

What types of businesses would this be viable for

The topic has been chosen because you can twist it around to suit any business niche. You can talk about how to attract security when you are driving by including actions you can take to maintain your car. As long as the emphasis is on action and being the best you can be.

Contributing to the book will give me credibility but how else can it grow my business?

• You will can put a link to your web site at the end of your article so readers will visit your web site
• You can make a special offer to readers of your chapter that will entice them to come to your website and join your mailing list. A perfect enticement it a free ebook, audio or autoresponder course. Something they need to sign up to get. Then you can build on the relationship through your newsletter. Some people even offer discounts on services or free sessions if you don’t have a product.

Do I need to have a gift to giveaway to contribute?

• No you don’t but I encourage you to as it will help you make the most of this opportunity

I don’t have time to write my chapter and set everything up for a free gift for readers. What can I do?

• We’ve thought of a way to make this easier for you. If you have a description of your gift, great. Mention it at the end of your chapter. There are 3 sets of people who can benefit from the distribution of this book throughout the Internet. Below is the way each party has the opportunity to grow their mailing list.

The quickest way I know to get money in your bank account and optimism in your heart is with affiliate marketing. The secret to being an effective affiliate is to recommend products created by people you trust. Cheryline is very much a detail person and her book takes you step by step through the techniques she uses, with an incredible amount of links to the sites she recommends and detailed proof on how it works.  I have read through the book and am so impressed with the level of detail.

I suggest when you get it, you print it out, use a high-lighter and write yourself a to-do list as you go. Then break that to-do list up into bite size pieces because as Cheryline stressed, you don’t have to do it all at once. Work through the steps gradually and each step will get you results.

In fact the word BUSINESS is the point Kathleen stressed throughout her call and I can’t agree with her enough. We hear so much hype about “make $50,000 with your first campaign with one product” that is it easy to believe that making money on the Internet completely ignores the rules that work for making money off-line. It’s rubbish of course. Sure, an Internet business is fantastic because you can work from home and have very small start-up costs (which is why I love the Internet), but if you intend to make consistent income, then you are starting a business.

How to make the Internet Work For You

1. Commit to the long term. You are building a business so plan to build your business for the long term and not some quickly created (and quickly forgotten) project.

2. Invest in training – you will want to learn a lot of things yourself but when you identify an area of expertise you need to master (for example how to run a tele-seminar), invest in learning from an expert. This will cut your learning curve dramatically

3. Build a solid foundation – Kathleen shared that in her first campaign, she made about $50 and thought it was great. Now when she launches a campaign she makes $50,000. This would not be possible if she had not built up her relationship with her customers and with her vendors over time.

4. Identify your market If you think everyone can be your customer you will go broke. You need to identify who needs your services and who you want as your customer. This will allow you to focus your marketing. Another good point Katherine mentioned that is the most important characteristic of your target market. They must have the money to pay you! Remember, you are in business.

5. Survey your customers One of the most powerful questions you can ask your customers and potential customers is “what is your biggest problem with …..”. Once you know their problems you can find solutions . This may be by creating your own products or (especially when you start) referring other people’s products as an affiliate.

6. You have a moral obligation to sell . This comment is one that many of our listeners resonated with. If you have a solution to a customer’s problem you have a moral obligation to sell that product through your business. This is a concept I know a lot of us struggle with. This concept turns around selling from the view of “taking” to the view of “giving”

7. Enthusiastically pay your suppliers If you always search for freebies you will always attract freebie seekers as customers.

8. Treat the Internet as a business. This is the over-riding message Katherine shared with us. So get an accountant, find out about business and marketing plans. These are the things you would do with an offline business. The same thing is true for an on-line business

How to cloak an affiliate link

If you are interested in creating passive income on the internet, the easiest way to do that is through affiliate marketing. Affiliate programs work using personalised links that sometimes just scream “affiliate link – I’ll make money if you click on this”. A good way around this is to create a different url such as www.affiliatetopic.yourwebsite.com which forwards people to the affiliate site when they click on it. This is pretty easy to do if you know how. Michelle has created a video just for our gold members that takes you step by step the whole process from beginning to end.

We had quite a few people listening in on the webinar today and for reasons outside my control – the webcast just stopped. I have no idea why but it is definitely something that happened with Instant Teleseminar – the company we use the run the webcast. Fortunately I use a back up to record the interview so the recording went fine but I am very sorry for the inconvenience caused to listeners on the webcast.

Are the best interviewers introverts or extroverts?

A lot of people assume that if you want to be a good interviewer you need to be an extrovert. Far from it. Heather revealed that she really is an introvert and that this has actually made her a great interviewer. After all a good interviewer is not meant to be in the spot light – they are meant to be holding it and shining it on the interviewee. Her message was to be yourself and not to try and copy someone else’s style.

The three R’s of an interview

Heather shared with us 3 R’s of developing a relationship with an interviewee:

Respect - this comes before the interview starts in how you correspond, the reputation you already have and testimonials you have collected.

Rapport - you can often develop this even in the 10 minutes or so that you can chat with the speaker on the phone before the call starts. Very often you do not get past this level of relationship on a call.

Resonance - this is when you really click and the interview takes an energy all of its own. Heather shared that it is rare to get this in an interview, but it can happen if you find something that you are both really passionate about or you have developed a relationship earlier through ohter interviews

Recommendations from Ros

I must admit I felt an incredible sense of relief and calm after talking to Ros. Her big message was to keep it simple and build on what women do best – build relationships. She concentrates on 2 methods to get traffic:

1. Pay Per Click Adwords (Google Adwords, Yahoo and MSN)
2. Blogging
