Video Tips: The Video Camera I bought and why
I’ve had a few people email/tweet me to ask what video camera I bought and why. They’ve been impressed with the high quality of the videos I made while on my US trip.
You can see some of my videos on my Youtube channel (why not subscribe while there?)
The Camera I bought is a Kodak Zi8. This is why I bought it:
- It fits in my hand bag
- You can upload direct to Youtube & Facebook
- It plugs into my USB port to upload and charge
- You can plug in an external Mic (this feature is usually only available in expensive models)
- It is great quality for sound and light in the video
- It is High Definition – figured this is the way of the future (don’t know why really) so may as well be prepared
- It makes me look professional when I’m very much an amateur
- It’s cheap (cost me about $170 USD)
Only problem so far:
- If you want to shoot really high resolution for the big screen, I don’t think it’s good enough. Brilliant at 720dpi for the web though
- The still camera doesn’t have a flash, which is a drag (my phone does though so I use it for photos)
How To Look Like A Pro In Your Next Video
Are you a talented, intelligent entrepreneur who gets in front of a video camera and turns into someone who looks and sounds like a moron? There’s something about the pressure of a video camera and the knowledge that it will be plastered across the Internet that can turn you into a waffling amateur.
Yep. I’m one of them!
This week Ludwina Dautovic shared some great tips to make you look and sound like a pro. Try this when you are filming your next 3 to 10 minute video to go on your web site.

Emotive Movies
I love a woman of action and Pam Brossman is one. This week Pam contacted me via Twitter to thank me for challenging her thinking. I felt she was branding herself too small and that she had the potential for greater things. So she took in on board and rebranded herself as ‘The Emotive Marketing Queen”.
Pam has been studying with Maria Andros since I interviewed her a few weeks ago and has really learnt heaps about using video online. So she offered to create a video for me.
I LOVE it. Can you check it out and leave a comment to tell Pam how clever she is?
The video captures the essence of the wonderful opportunity I have created to help my members (that’s you) establish themselves as an established author - FAST and cheaper than it costs to take out an add in a magazine.
Now here’s something interesting about using video to share your message. Search on you tube for “motivational movies” . At the time of writing, this movie was no 10 out of 16,500 in just 23 hours. See how long the other movies on the list have been up.
It is also no 11 for “best seller author”, and 20 for “best selling author”. How cool is that?
36 Inspiring Action Takers
Hey
Here are the wonderful action takers who took on the challenge of submitting a video in our impromptu Wonderful Web Video Challenge:
You can view their videos and visit their web sites by visiting the following blog posts:

These people will be receiving a surprise gift from Carrie Wilkerson and Mr Video (they are on a cruise at the moment) and will have the right to display the new “Wonderful Web Action Taker” logo on their web sites. The sign of someone who is not just serious about creating success on the Internet, they are actually taking action to create that success. Totally inspiring people to me. (in no particular order)
