Join Our Community on Facebook and Twitter

The Wonderful Web Women community extends beyond this web site. We also actively connect via social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook. If you haven’t used these sites before, they’re very easy to get started with. It helps if you already have people to connect with once you join these sites, and that’s where we come in :)

Twitter

You can join Twitter, which as easy as choosing a name and using your email and password. It is free.

Once you have joined, you can communicate with other people by writing short (140 character) messages.

How to find our community on Twitter

1. Firstly, come and follow our founder, Janet Beckers. You can find her here.

When you follow Janet, she will automatically follow you back. Then simply write a “tweet” that says…..

@janetbeckers I’ve just joined wonderful web women as a (free or gold) member #wwwomen

Next time Janet logs into twitter she’ll reply to you and copy and paste your short message (called a Re-Tweet, or RT). This will then get your name in front of the thousands of people who follow Janet and hopefully help you find some new followers.

2. Search for our members on the gold member profile pages

Click on the link over there to the right for “Gold Members”. Many of our members have put their twitter IDs on their profiles. Simply find them on Twitter, follow them and then introduce yourself as one of our members.

3. Join us for a “Tweet Chat”

Whenever we hold a live tele-class, we also have a live “Tweet Chat” happening at the same time. To find out what this means, I have written an article for you on the blog.

There can be so much white noise on Twitter you can’t find who you really want to talk to. To make it easy to find people who are all in the same conversation you can combine 2 things:

  1. A Hash tag which goes at the end of every tweet you write that is on that conversation. Ours is #wwwomen.
  2. You can go to www.Tweetchat.com and enter our hash tag #wwwomen, and you will only see the tweets that use that tag.

That’s what we do on every live call and it is amazing how many people form friendships and joint ventures while we are running our calls.

It’s a parallel universe!

How to Find Our Community on Facebook

Facebook is a brilliant place to make friends and build the relationships that will help your business grow.

You can join Facebook for free and you decide who you would like to be your friend or not.

It allows you to share more info about yourself and your business than Twitter does and it also allows you to find out more about the people you may end up choosing to do business with. You can join us in 3 ways.

1. Introduce yourself to our founder Janet Beckers

You can find Janet at www.facebook.com/JanetBeckers

You can send her a message when you find her and ask to be her friend

2. Join the Wonderful Web Women fan page

This is a page of Facebook totally devoted to our community. You can sign up as a fan and leave a message for every one else to see immediately. We have special news and offers that are only made on this page and it is a great place to keep up-to date as things are happening, rather than wait for news to appear on the blog or email.

You can join us at www.facebook.com/WonderfulWebWomen

3. Search for our members on the gold member profile pages

Many of our gold members have included their Facebook ID on their profile pages. Simply check them out over there on the Gold Member profile pages and introduce yourself
